As the penultimate day of my practicum, I knew I wanted to fully complete my last big assignment. That was, of course, the LGBTQ+ legal research guide. My hope was to leave my practicum having provided the Dee J. Kelly Law Library a complete, thorough guide that was fully ready to publish. Ultimately, by the end of the day, I feel I reached that goal. But first, I started my day with some feedback on the guide from site supervisor Lisa Goodman. After implementing these minor updates, I started integrating the last remaining resources not yet included. This included suitable movies, documentaries, TED talks, and selected legal journal articles.

Integrating pages regarding documentaries and TED talks was relatively simple. I had already collected resources to feature. Accordingly, my primary task was writing up suitable blurbs and finding visually interesting thumbnails. However, since I had some extra time, I did add a number of additional, relevant movies and TED talks to the page that I found while image searching. As such, my page of audiovisual resources grew quite a bit larger than originally intended. Meanwhile, I had not yet selected legal journal articles to feature. Thus, most of my day was using Westlaw and Lexis to find the most recent, and most cited, legal articles on LGBTQ+ issues. This ended up taking a while because each article needed to be vetted for appropriateness for inclusion, and legal articles are rather dense to read. Ultimately, I was able to find a high quantity of curated articles. In the end, the LGBTQ+ legal research guide was completed.

Photo Description: On my penultimate day in the library, I realized I never shared a nice photo of the Dee J. Kelly Law Library's entrance. The facility is beautiful and located in the law school's lower level. Soon, however, A&M Law School and this library will be featured in a new building that is currently under construction.
