Drafting a Summer Blog Post and Final Day: 4/5 9am-3pm

As my final assignment, I drafted a blog post for the library's blog. Specifically, I wrote about PLI Plus, which is a legal database that provides access to course handbooks, treatises continuing education lecture transcripts, and more. PLI Plus is particularly interesting because it is completely oriented to the practical aspect of practicing law. Most resources avoid theoretical discussions of scholarly jurisprudence in favor of checklists and forms that actual attorneys need when handling real clients. Accordingly, this blog post was scheduled for posting over the summer, when many law students will be doing their summer law internships. Over the summer, many students may benefit from practical legal resources during their first foray into the reality of legal practice. As such, I look forward to checking the library's blog and seeing a version of my post online in a few months.

Today was incredibly bittersweet, being the last day of my practicum with the Dee J. Kelly Law Library. I truly enjoyed my experience here, and I will miss the entire team with whom I worked. This has been an eye-opening experience, and I could not be more grateful for the guidance of every librarian in the library. As part of my final day, I chatted with Lisa Goodman about the career field, as well as a review of my work. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my work with the Dee J. Kelly Law Library and feel I was able to make concrete contributions during my short time here. If anything, this experience has strengthened my desire to eventually start my career in an academic law library. As final note, I would like to thank everyone at A&M Law School, and especially Lisa Goodman, for their guidance and support.
